In recent years, large-scale reforms have been implemented to accelerate the development of all sectors of the economy, create favorable conditions for increasing investment attractiveness and business activity, expand production and service industries, and improve the social sector and the living standards of the population.

To foster a healthy competitive environment in the energy sector, increase the inflow of foreign and private investment, and establish wholesale and retail electricity markets based on free and transparent pricing mechanisms, numerous legislative and regulatory acts have been adopted.

The Decree places particular emphasis on ensuring the continuity and reliability of electricity supply while improving the quality of services provided to consumers. In particular, it identifies as priority objectives enhancing the investment attractiveness of the electric power sector, creating favorable conditions for broader private sector participation, and expanding the production of green energy through the wider utilization of renewable energy sources.

In recent years, "Taxiatosh Thermal Power Plant" JSC has also been implementing a number of new projects aimed at attracting investment and expanding the use of renewable energy sources. As is well known, the company is one of the first thermal power plants established in Uzbekistan. Today, the plant operates two conventional generating units and two modern 280 MW combined-cycle power units. On average, the station generates approximately 10 million kWh of electricity per day.

In addition, pursuant to Resolution No. PQ-57 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated 16 February 2023, a 2,200 kW photovoltaic power plant has been commissioned at "Taxiatosh Thermal Power Plant" JSC. This project contributes to increasing the share of renewable energy in the plant's overall energy mix and supports the country's transition toward a more sustainable and environmentally friendly power sector.
